Professionals who work with children, youth and families who are formed through adoption and/or permanency journeys.
Professionals
Families formed through adoption, kinship, and customary care face unique challenges on their lifelong journey. As a professional working with these families, you already know the importance of developing a deeper understanding of those challenges and being responsive to them.
When you join our network as a professional, you will be connected to a Regional Parent Liaison. A Regional Parent Liaison (RPL) is a parent/caregiver through adoption/permanency that Adopt4Life employs. Each RPL covers a certain geographic area or region, and they provide parents/caregivers with a 1:1 contact for:
Advice on local resources
Information about joining our special-focus online support groups
Details of our virtual and in-person meet-ups
Advocacy (at meetings with school administrators, the Children’s Aid Society, or medical professionals)
Buddy and mentor matching
Being connected with a Regional Parent Liaison provides you with an easy way to guide families you are supporting in your own area of practice to the resources and supports that Adopt4Life can provide, as part of a coordinated family-centered approach. You can also use Adopt4Life’s education and resources to learn more about adoption and permanency.
